Every month the teams who run our four CarePoints in Namibia write to us about the children in their care. Here is what they told us in August.
Keetmanshoop: 13 new children
The Keetmanshoop team visited homes in a newly built informal settlement on the edge of town and met families with children who need the care a CarePoint gives. Thirteen of those children have been registered to start at the CarePoint in September.
“Every new child represents an opportunity to serve not only the child but also their family.” (The Keetmanshoop team)
The team is also adding a CareGiver for the youngest children, chosen with the help of our Namibia country office.

Older boys and some of the CarePoint’s own graduates spent part of the holidays repairing sun-damaged shade netting and clearing the fence line.
48 birthdays at Georgie Wilson and The Ark
Few of these children ever have a birthday party at home. In August, Georgie Wilson celebrated 21 children and The Ark celebrated 27, with cake, a dance group and a birthday card for every child. The two CarePoints then came together for a fun day of volleyball, swimming and a jumping castle.
Oshikuku: a garden in full growth
At Oshikuku the vegetable garden is green and close to harvest: spinach, tomatoes and onions for the children’s meals. When a girl hurt her ankle in a game, the team took her straight to hospital and then visited her at home while she recovered.
Please pray with us
- For wisdom as the Keetmanshoop team welcomes 13 new children and their families.
- For the CarePoint leaders, for wisdom and strength.
- For the children to grow in the Lord and break the cycle of spiritual brokenness in their families.
Stand with these children
Sponsoring a child costs £40 a month. All of it goes to the child’s CarePoint, and it covers the full cost of their care: food, healthcare, schooling, and the care and teaching at the CarePoint.
