Namibia
Christ’s Hope has worked in Namibia from the start: in 2003 the Arks at Okahandja and Keetmanshoop were among its first care centres. Today our nine CarePoints meet in three towns.
- 9 CarePoints
- 360 children
- Since 2008
- Oshikuku, Okahandja and Keetmanshoop
9 CarePoints
Oshikuku
A small town in the far north, in Omusati Region, where the rains can bring floods one year and drought the next. The three CarePoints here share one building.
Okahandja
A town north of Windhoek. Our CarePoints are in the residential areas west of the town, where hundreds of new homes have gone up in a few years. Local businesses and farmers help where they can, with gifts of food.
Keetmanshoop
A town in the dry south. The Ark here began as an orphanage and became a CarePoint when Christ’s Hope moved to caring for children within their own families. Christiaan en Rita meets in the same building.
What happens at every CarePoint: a cooked meal, help with school, care when they’re ill, and Bible teaching. A day at a CarePoint, hour by hour
