Every month the teams who run our four CarePoints in Namibia write to us about the children in their care. Here is what they told us about July 2025.
The Ark: from 56 children to 82
The Ark in Okahandja welcomed 26 new children, bringing the number to 82. Eighteen come in the morning before afternoon school, and 64 come in the afternoon after school. New caregivers have joined, so the team is now six: four caregivers, a cleaner and a cook. The building has been freshly painted.
“We pray that these children will become cycle breakers in the community, and that what we teach them will transform their lives.” (The Ark team)
Keetmanshoop: a visiting team and eye tests
A team of six from Mount of Olives Church spent two weeks at Keetmanshoop. They repaired doors and plumbing, repainted the playground and helped in the kitchen. One of them checked the children’s and staff’s eyes, and about five children will see an optician, with the church offering to buy any glasses they need.

Keetmanshoop has 51 children registered, 48 of them coming regularly, and the caregivers are visiting the families of the three who haven’t come back after the holidays. Most children did well in their exams. Those who didn’t now get extra help, and high-school students have tutoring in the afternoons. Namib Mills and a group of local bikers gave food and clothes.
Oshikuku: a garden full of vegetables
The children come nearly every day, and the staff and children are all well. The garden is growing spinach, tomatoes, onions, carrots, butternut squash and beetroot. The children have been busy making crafts and letters for their sponsors. Global Africa Mission gave ten children a full school uniform and a school bag, and gave clothes and a gift for the CarePoint.
Georgie Wilson: new uniforms and a worship day
The children received new school uniforms, shoes and bags. Tomoka Christian Church from Florida spent time with the children and gave every child a jersey. On 13 July children and staff from across Okahandja came together for worship at Georgie Wilson, joined by six former children, followed by a meal and sport.
All the staff from the Namibia CarePoints also met in Okahandja for a retreat in July, with fellowship, training and a game drive.
Please pray with us
- For the 26 new children at The Ark and their families.
- For the children who need glasses, and for the children who need extra help at school.
- For the staff, for wisdom, strength and perseverance as they care for the children every day.
Stand with these children
Sponsoring a child costs £40 a month. All of it goes to the child’s CarePoint, and it covers the full cost of their care: food, healthcare, schooling, and the care and teaching at the CarePoint.
